It seems baby photography is becoming sort of a trademark for me. I'm really honored that so many people have chosen me to photograph their little ones, and I am so glad I am able to capture those sweet first moments. Anyway, here's one of my latest tiny subjects and her family! She was a joy to work with and I hope to have the opportunity to see her again as she grows.

I got to photograph another beautiful baby yesterday, this time at my own home here in Cottage Grove. This is the niece of a friend, who's wedding I'll be photographing in August. Baby "K" was so sweet, with perfect soft newborn skin. I just can't get over how dang cute she is! Well, enjoy, yet another newborn. I LOVE newborns!

Congratulations to Missy and Steve Herbert, who were married this last Saturday in Minneapolis, at the Wesley United Methodist Church! I picked out a few favorites from the day to share. Congrats again, enjoy your sneak peek and here's to a wonderful marriage!

I got to see this super handsome one year old last week at his grandma's house in Woodbury, MN. He's getting so big! I photographed his first year, and I cannot believe he's already 1! I've watched a lot of babies grow into toddlers this last year, and I'm amazed each time I see them, how much they've changed. I hope to see this little man again soon!

I recently had a group of people contact me asking for help with improving their photography, mentoring, and general advice. I've had lots of requests to do a workshop, but just hadn't really considered doing one, since I don't consider myself a fabulous speaker by any means. Then they reminded me that I don't need to do a whole lot of speaking if I can answer questions, and show them hands on. So they talked me into it! On June 7th I'll be holding my first ever workshop! I had kept it open to those who requested it first to give them time to register, but now it's open to everyone! Casting Call!

I'm very excited to be teaching a photography workshop for beginner/intermediate level photographers! This class will be on June 7th, 2008 and I'm going to need some models! We'll be needing:

- One child, age 4-6 who loves being in front of a camera and takes direction well. Update: This spot has been filled.

- One baby, who will be 7 months on June 7th. Update: This spot has been filled.

-One newborn who will be less than 2 weeks old on June 7th. Contact me if you are due the last week of May or first week of June.

These models will be photographed by a group of 10 who are learning to improve their skills. The newborn will be photographed by me while the others watch, learn and take a few shots themselves. By volunteering as a model you will receive a variety of prints of your child, taken by me and the group. Your pictures will also be published here, and possibly the blogs of the workshop attendees, so you will need to sign a model release. I got to meet and photograph this SUPER cute newborn baby girl! She is the baby sister of one of Nina's friends, and they live right here in Cottage Grove, MN so I only had to drive 5 minutes! How nice is that? So this little sweetie was such a good baby! She barely fussed, and when she slept, she looked like a little angel. It's times like these when I wish my baby was teeny tiny again. They grow up so fast...

I just wanted to share my newest favorite photograph of Miss Nina! She wanted to "do pictures" so, since she was willing, I put her cute little pink sundress on and dragged her matching chair downstairs, looking forward to a fun little photo shoot. Well, this is the shot we got. The ONLY shot. She let me take one picture and said, ok, all done! Not that I mind, it was completely spontanious and totally cute! I ordered up a 16x20 and it's now hanging on her bedroom wall. Love it!

I got to go see this little sweetheart on Friday! She's six months old, and has such a cute perstonality and the most adorable big blue eyes! I can't wait to photograph her again at one year! Of course, we had to get a shot of her big brother (the dog) who wanted a little attention too.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a little teaser of a new website featuring some new and different work than what I normally do. Well, curtain please! I've just launched a brand new site for intimate portraits. We did a little of this at the conference I went to the first week of March, and it was a LOT of fun, so I decided to offer it to my clients. This site is dedicated to bringing out the beauty of women, boosting their self esteem, all while giving their husbands/boyfriends a little gift. This is becoming HUGELY popular with brides to be, as well as new moms who want to feel gorgeous again. The few sessions that I've done so far have RAVED about how fun it was and how great the pictures came out. Ok, so enough babbling from me, here's the new website!

I had a great time today photographing this glowing mom to be at my new, still in construction home studio! She is expecting a baby girl in about a month, and still looks absolutely fabulous! I wish I looked like that when I was pregnant, but what can you do?

This morning I enjoyed photographing this adorable family and little boy Zach. Don't you just love that crazy hair? He was such a happy little guy and you can tell he just adores his mommy and daddy! Here they are!

I am so glad spring is finally starting to show itself! Today we took advantage of the nice weather to photograph this beautiful senior girl who will be graduating high school very soon. She was so much fun to work with. What a wonderful personality and smile. Congratulations miss "L"!

I had a lot of fun during this recent photo shoot with this beautiful 8 year old girl! She has such a great imagination. She told me she was pretending she was a super star and I was there for her cover shoot. What an awesome, outgoing personality she has! I don't get to work with kids this age all that often, but when I do I really enjoy it. Bring on the big kids! They deserve to be in the spotlight sometimes too!

I was recently setting up my studio equipment in my basement (where I'll be doing studio portrait sessions occasionally starting in May) and decided to do a little test shoot with Nina. It was about bedtime, so she was willing to do anything for the chance to stay up a little while longer. She's getting to be a good model, don't you think?

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I've posted! Sorry for neglecting you guys. I spent a week in Charlston, South Carolina at a photography conference learning lots of new ideas for improving this little business that I've created and have become so proud of! Watch for some new changes that'll be coming into effect soon! For starters, I've finally published my wedding photography website! Having a small area for weddings on my portrait site just wasn't enough for brides to be. They wanted more, so here I am delivering! I photographed these two handsome little toddlers a couple weeks ago. They were so full of adorable expressions! It was hard to decide which ones to share, I have SO many more that I just love of these two, but they'd take up the whole blog if I did that, lol! Well see for yourself, aren't they just beautiful children?

Yesterday I got to work with these adorable twins, for their one year portraits and for an ad for Bebe Babble, a kids specialty boutique in Edina. They have got some very cool stuff for kids there! I got to photograph another little newborn baby girl yesterday! I just bought this little doll bed at Ikea and was excited to use it. Doesn't she look adorable in it? I had to take some of her with her mommy too. She's a photographer too, so she doesn't end up in front of the lense too often, so this was her opportunity. Aren't they sweet together? I love how they both smiled simultaniously. Glad I was able to capture that moment for them. Thanks for looking!

Aren't these two little girls just as adorable as can be? These were for the little one's first birthday, and we took the opportunity to do a family portrait and a few variations. They looked like little princesses all dolled up, and those eyes, WOW! Happy first birthday! I hope to see you all again soon!

I've been working with a lot of one year olds lately. Needless to say I'm getting my exercise! Here's one of my most recent. At this age, kids make so many adorable expressions that express their personalities, I love doing collages that show them all off. I just love photographing babies as they sleep. They are so innocent, and I just love how their faces look when their cheek gets a little squished and they get that little pucker in their lips. This little girl is a perfect example. She looked so precious as she had sweet dreams. When she was awake, I got to see those gorgeous round eyes and adorable face. Mom and Grandma were there to watch and help, so we took that opportunity to get a 3 generation photograph. I think it turned out beautifully, don't you? What a group of beautiful ladies!

Isn't this little guy just adorable? He's 6 weeks old, and very alert! He was looking around, checking everything out the whole time, which made it easy to capture those beautiful eyes! Getting him to sleep, on the other hand was quite the challenge! Well, he did fall asleep a few times, only to wake up as soon as we put him down. I'm not one to give up though! We kept trying and finally he decided to give up, and that's when we got those precious images below. I'm loving those chubby cheeks!

Just wanted to share this little moment I captured last night. We had just returned from a Marti Gras celebration where Nina won a cake in the cake walk, lots of prizes and got her face painted. Grandma came over to help hang some pictures on the wall of our new home (we moved the first of Februaray). After dinner everyone was pretty tired, and we turned on one of Nina's favorite shows to wind down. She and Grandma cuddled on the couch. They looked so cute, I just had to take out the camera. Here's the result. Aren't they just the sweetest pair?

Had a little impromptu photo session with Nina yesterday morning. She's actually starting to get easier to photograph for me (finally!). Not easy, just easier! She didn't run away this time, and that's saying a lot! Anyway, I'm getting some valentines printed up from some of these for her to give to her friends at daycare. Let me just tell you, this little girl is already quite the heartbreaker! I keep hearing about how all the boys in daycare have a crush on her. Their parents say they ask about Nina all the time, and a couple have even had dreams about her! Isn't two and a half a little young to have a list of boyfriends? Man, am I in trouble if this continues through her teenage years!

I've been so lazy about blogging...SORRY! I've actually been stuck in tax land trying to figure all this out (the fun part about being self employed, ha!), but I just had to take a break to show you this adorable little guy I photographed today! He was just happy as could be, and cute as ever! It was a lot of fun working with him.

I got to photograph yet another ADORABLE baby boy today! This little guy is just cute as a button, and has gotten so big since I saw him last, when he was just weeks old. Don't you just love the look on his face in that first one?

This little 9 month old boy is SO CUTE!!! Look at those big blue eyes, super soft hair and that innocent look on his face. I bet he can get away with ANYTHING at home just by being so cute. I can't wait to see him again at 1 year.

Nice to meet you, baby "T"! This little sweetie was a pleasure to work with, though I don't think she even knew I was there. She slept through the whole thing! Quite the little sleeping beauty...

I went to Cancun last week for a little sunshine and rest and came back to subzero temps! Fun stuff! Anyway, while I was there I had to do a photoshoot on those gorgeous beaches. Here's my lucky friend who I talked into modeling for me. Isn't she gorgeous?
